Pastor Jim Frank Carr Jr.
The late Reverend Jim Frank Carr Sr., in his 80 plus years of age felt compelled and called by God to build a church for the people of God to serve the Lord. Reverend Carr ministered at the church until he was called home to be with the Lord in 2003. For the next seven years, the building served as a church home to several organizations. God knew what He was creating during this time. During these seven years, He raised up a great man. Although this great man’s journey with Christ began many decades ago, God increased his territory and perfected this man to continue a lasting legacy. In 2010, God enacted His plan as the son of Reverend Carr accepted his calling and launched into the deep.
The late Pastor Jim Frank Carr Jr. and his wife, First Lady, Sarah Carr founded Mooresville Community Outreach which later was renamed to Mooresville Christian Outreach Church in 2020. With a heart for GOD, a heart for FAMILY, a heart for PEOPLE, Pastor Carr created a church that saved many who were spiritually lost. His mission was to bring people to Christ through teaching the uncompromised Word of God. As a true visionary, Pastor Carr and his wife created many programs that still to this day, enhance the town of Mooresville and surrounding areas.
When considering Mooresville Christian Outreach Church as your new church home, know that our church is unlike others. Prophesied to be a lighthouse and a church that “is set on a hill [that] cannot be hidden.” Mooresville Christian Outreach Church was built by God using people of faith, courage, and wisdom willing to do whatever it takes to advance the kingdom of God.
Today, Pastor Clarissa Carr Johns carries the mantle previously carried by her grandfather and father. Prepared for her position since birth, Pastor Clarissa accepted her calling in August 2023 becoming the Lead Pastor of Mooresville Christian Outreach Church. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Clarissa and her husband, Dr. Phil Johns Jr. support the founding legacy of leading individuals to Christ. By enriching church operations and community outreach, Pastor Clarissa and Dr. Phil continually enhance the overall mission and vision of Mooresville Christian Outreach Church.

The role of the Worship Team is to lead our congregation in authentic praise and worship by surrendering dance and musical giftings unto the Lord. We are always welcoming new team members! Praise dancers, vocalists and musicians are welcome to contact the church office to learn more about the audition and onboarding process that ensures you are ready and equipped for Sunday mornings!

Members who serve in these areas play a huge role in making our guests feel safe and comfortable. They prepare the sanctuary between services, welcome our guests, getting to know them by name and help them to become familiar with our facility. These members also organize menus and serve in the kitchen for special events.

Want to lend a helping hand to maintain God’s House or help ensure a smooth Sunday morning service? The maintenance and weekend prep team routinely seeks volunteers to help with Saturday campus beautification efforts and Sunday morning preparation.
Members of our Evangelism Team are trained to share the Gospel to those that are Spiritually lost. We teach the word of God, help families and children by God’s leading and direction. The Children & Youth Ministry of Mooresville Christian Outreach Church offers a welcoming environment for all youth as we lead them to Christ and create opportunities for the youth to use their gifts and talents to the glory of God. Our carefully screened volunteers teach Biblical principles that enhances spiritual growth. We appreciate the privilege of helping you to raise your children to serve the Lord.
